Learn about the systematic principles underlying linguistic expressions of bias. The course is based both on existing academic research in the fields of linguistic anthropology and sociolinguistics (which I have taught at Berkeley, Northwestern, and UCLA) and on original research done on language and discrimination in the workplace.
