Garrett Wong, MA LEED AP BD+C, is a sustainability strategist with the Santa Monica City Office of Sustainability. He has experience in the non-profit, corporate and government arenas committed to engaging communities, challenging conventional thought and promoting innovative solutions.
James Kennedy, an expert on solar power use in Residential and Commercial Buildings will discuss how solar energy works and its role in cities such as Santa Monica.
Mr. Wong will briefly speak on the City's climate action efforts and Mr. Kennedy will discuss solar energy. If you'd like to join us from 6:00-8:00 pm at Michael’s Restaurant please register for free.
BONUS: SMBA Immediate Past President Steve Weaver will be on hand to discuss California's New Requirement that construction of (most) new dwellings taking place after January 1, 2020 include solar systems, according to standards adopted by the California Energy Commission.
Michael's has an excellent selection of drinks and small plates. While registration is free, food and drink will be your responsibility. Public parking is available just north of the restaurant on 3rd Street as well as metered street parking. Get to know fellow members and discuss sustainability measures in the City of Santa Monica and ideas about solar energy.
