The Santa Monica Bar Association proudly presents a 1 hour CLE presentation by the nation’s largest pro bono law firm, Public Counsel, on the current state of affairs in U.S. immigration policy and the pro bono opportunities for lawyers that can assist immigrants in crisis.

Public Counsel Immigrants’ Rights Attorney Joseph Weiner will provide an in-depth perspective on the current immigration landscape and what we as legal practitioners can do to provide security and hope through pro bono representation. The presentation will focus on the complexion of the current client population and the history and stories that are creating the pressing need to for pro bono legal services. Opportunities to represent individuals, children and families in Immigration Court, asylum matters, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status cases, and U and T-Visa applications will be part of the discussion. The presentation will also include other types of pro bono opportunities, both discrete and in-depth, that are available through Public Counsel.

We hope you will join us for what is certain to be an informative and moving evening!
