    Speaker Biographies:

    EVA FEDER

    Eva Feder is Senior Vice President of Business & Legal Affairs at Lionsgate and a member of the State Bar of California. A graduate of Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law, Eva began her career in the entertainment industry at Summit Entertainment as a legal intern, later becoming an in-house legal counsel, and eventually moving to Lionsgate following its acquisition of Summit Entertainment in 2012, where she was promoted to her current position. While Eva works on a variety of legal matters and agreements, she specializes in legal marketing, licensing, and merchandising for film and television properties, namely for location-based entertainment (e.g., theme parks, live theater, touring exhibitions), video games, virtual reality, and ancillary rights acquisitions. Eva also oversees in-house day-to-day decisions for Lionsgate’s intellectual property portfolio.  Her work has involved many of Lionsgate’s and Summit’s most successful franchises, including The Twilight Saga, The Hunger Games, Mad Men, and Orange is the New Black. 


    JASON VOGELPartner, Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP 

     Jason Vogel focuses his practice on international trademark and copyright portfolio and conflict counseling. His experience includes complex multi-jurisdictional trademark clearance, protection, enforcement, anti-counterfeiting, litigation and licensing programs for leading companies in the film, television and musical entertainment fields, as well as the technology, financial services, apparel, pharmaceutical and food and restaurant services industries. Mr. Vogel has served as Adjunct Professor of Advanced Trademark Law at the Yeshiva University Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, and has written and spoken extensively on the Madrid Protocol, Asian and European trademark practice and other topics. 

    Mr. Vogel was recognized as an "IP Star" in 2018 and the five years immediately preceding by Managing Intellectual Property magazine. He is listed in the 2019 and the six years immediately preceding editions of World Trademark Review 1000 – The World's Leading Trademark Professionals.     ADA  BROWN

    Senior Vice President of US domestic business affairs Sony Pictures Television. Expertise in international co productions and domestic television including cost plus outlets, broadcast, cable, streaming and Quibi. Responsibilities include securing multi million dollar overall deals, talent development deals, animation production, analysis of budgets for production, supervision of various staff, mows, limited series, negotiation of license fees, acquisition of intellectual property, oversee outside counsel and acquisition of life rights.  

       

    PETER NELSON

    A Pennsylvania native, Peter Martin Nelson graduated with honors from Williams College and was awarded the Lathers Class Prize. Mr. Nelson obtained his law degree from Hastings College of Law, University of California where, in addition to being a member of the Thurston Society and the Order of the Coif, he served as Note Editor for the Hastings Law Journal. Upon graduating from law school, Mr. Nelson served a one-year clerkship for the Honorable George E. MacKinnon, Circuit Judge for the United States Court of Appeals, District of Columbia. 

    Mr. Nelson received his first hands-on entertainment law experience while an associate in New York at an international law firm, where he represented motion picture studios, television networks, and on-air personalities in First Amendment litigation, contract and copyright matters. He next moved to Los Angeles where he practiced at a Beverly Hills law firm and then formed the firm now known as Nelson Davis. The firm specializes in representation of talent in motion pictures, television, and ancillary fields. Nelson Davis was located in Westwood for more than a decade before moving to its current location in Santa Monica. 

    Mr. Nelson's clientele includes well-known writers, directors, producers, actors, and comedians, and spans the feature film and television worlds. Among his clients are winners of Academy, Emmy, Grammy, and Golden Globe Awards. For his clients Mr. Nelson has negotiated what Variety has labeled "some of the most groundbreaking franchise deals in movie and TV history." He is a mainstay on The Hollywood Reporter's Power Lawyers list and has been featured and quoted extensively in Variety, People, Forbes, Entertainment Weekly, The New York Times, and Los Angeles Times. Mr. Nelson has spoken frequently before public audiences on topics including film financing, production, distribution, copyright, and the art of negotiation, and has been published in multiple legal and industry journals. He is a member of the New York, California, and Beverly Hills Bar Associations, and is a co-founder of the Williams College Arts and Entertainment Internship Program. 


    MONA METWALLI

    Mona Metwalli is Senior Vice President, Business Affairs at dick clark productions. She handles all sponsorship, partnership, marketing, digital, and licensing transactions for all of dcp’s programs, including the Billboard Music Awards, Golden Globe Awards, American Music Awards, and So You Think You Can Dance, and supervises dcp’s trademark portfolio and related intellectual property matters.

    Prior to rejoining dcp in 2014, Mona had her own practice working with clients such as Summit/Lionsgate on merchandising, licensing, marketing and promotion activities for TheTwilight Saga and Hunger Games series of movies and other properties, Nigel Lythgoe Productions on television development and production, and The Weinstein Company on product/brand integration and licensing agreements for Project Runway and other television series and films.

    Prior to establishing her own firm, Mona served as Vice President, Business Affairs at dick clark productions for two years and before that, spent six years at Viacom Consumer Products, the licensing division for Paramount Pictures, where she handled licenses of every kind from consumer products, publishing, and interactive gaming to restaurants, theme parks, and stage playsMona is a graduate of Princeton University and UCLA School of Law and holds a certificate in general management from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
