Effective Attorney Advocacy in Mediation | Presented by Stacie Feldman Hausner.

During an informative, hour long program, Mediator Stacie Feldman Hausner, Esq. shares several of her most effective tactics for maximizing settlement outcomes.  Stacie draws her information both from her own extensive Mediation experiences as well as the curriculum she developed for her course in “Mediation” at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine Law School.  She will explore how to compose an effective mediation brief, how to most effectively prepare clients for mediation, how to select between combative and collaborative mediation approaches, and how to use persuasion techniques to help influence the opposition.  Additionally, she will share some more nuanced mediation styles, how to utilize anchoring numbers and/or positions, the best timing for revealing information, how to make impactful concessions, and when, if ever, to discuss “bottom lines”. By utilizing these valuable skills, attorneys can help maximize their chances of delivering optimal client results at mediations.
