Join Public Counsel and the Santa Monica Bar Association on July 22, 2021 at 6:00 pm for a virtual program and esteemed panel on Covid-19 and Bankruptcy: Evaluating the Financial Impact of the Pandemic on Small Business


On July 22nd, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, Public Counsel’s Debtor Assistance Project and the Santa Monica Bar Association will be presenting a virtual panel with the Hon. Martin R. Barash of the United States bankruptcy court, Central District of California; Caroline Djang, Partner at Best Best & Krieger LLP and Subchapter V Small Business Chapter 11 Trustee; Leslie A. Cohen, owner of Leslie Cohen Law, PC; and Sanjay Varshney, PhD, CFA, Principal and Founder of Goldenstone Wealth Management, LLC.

The panel will be moderated by Magdalena Reyes Bordeaux, Senior Supervising Attorney with Public Counsel’s Debtor Assistance Project and Matthew F. Baker, Partner at RMO LLP.

The panel will discuss the financial impact of the pandemic on the economy and small businesses, options distressed small businesses and small business owners have, as well as bankruptcy options available to them.

The event is free, although attendees may make a $5 contribution to support SMBA through the registration page or to Public Counsel’s Debtor Assistance Project here.  Attendees will receive 1.5 hours of MCLE.  Registrants will receive the Zoom invitation before this event.
